Hugs and Kisses

Saturday, December 26, 2009

This is the last post of the night. Kind of fun to have a picture with my aunt, dad, and the kiddos. Vera is HUGE into carousels right now.

Just the Four of Us

So close, just a Keller Dude away from a picture with all of us looking at the camera and smiling.

Golden Gate Slide

The Mazzetta Crew had some serious fun in Golden Gate Park this morning. We got to play with Opa and Aunt Sue, shoot down the coolest cement slide in the land, go carousel riding, and yep...try for the infamous picture of the four of us...AGAIN!

Vera was the fasted kid in the park on the slide. She had the perfect size box, it was brand new, and there was a slippery sticker on the side that reduced friction. Loving it!

Keller's first ride was with Aunt Sue. My first thought when seeing this photo. How cute is that belly?

Yes, I did scream the entire way down!

Create-A-Bear - Part II

Aunt Steph and Sandy's Christmas present to Vera was a Create-A-Dog and for Keller...a Create-A-Turkey. J chose that one! Vera loved every step of the process. Fifi, a Portuguese Water Dog (just like the Obamas) is the newest member of our family and as you can imagine, is Vera's constant companion. Poor Bingo has taken a backseat to the new pup.

After you stuff your critter, you get to "bath" it...aka, blow air on it. The whole thing is addicting and even I started looking longingly at the itty-bitty outfits and various accessories.

Grandpa Richard

On our drive to the Bay Area we got to spend a bit of time with Grandpa Richard. And, to Vera's great delight, Maddie and Barney. Maddie is quite the crazy dog and so you spend the first 10 minutes of the visit trying to pet her as she races around in front of you, behind you, and sprinting onto and then off of your lap.

Best of the Rest

I know that with Christmas coming, I will have lots of photos to post and blogs to write. So, I am playing catch-up with photos from the month. First, is the one where Keller is showing some love for Mocha, because both of my kids are clearly obsessed with dogs. J and I hear at least 20 times a day, "Are we getting a puppy for Christmas?" Talk about guilt, not dogs are coming this year. Instead, we will continue to stalk neighbors and friends that have pups.

We love Tiny Taylor!

December has been parties galore, which is what happens when you are in a baby group where all of the kids are born within two months of each other.

Jules wants to try on my veil for her wedding...uhmmm...so I had to put my wedding dress back on to make sure that it still fits and to prance around a bit.

Craft project of the month, who knew that they would take three weeks to dry on the inside.

We love Kate and Mikel who throw the best holiday parties with lots and lots of food.

Almost at the end, both kids were thrilled to have Opa in town for a visit. Do I look like my dad or what? As I like to say, the apple did not fall far from that tree.

Finally, my new jeans that I am loving and my Oma's boots!! Yep, they have to be 30 years old and they survived a soy sauce spill at Arrigato's by the waitor.

Knits

My sister is an amazing knitter! We opened Christmas presents tonight and each member of the Mazzetta Crew has some new headgear to kick. Keller wasn't quite sure about his fish and wouldn't pose for the pic. I will have to post a better picture to show off the cuteness factor.

Me, I am in love with my new hat and can't wait to wear it in New York!!!

Future Looks

If the apples don't fall far from the tree, here is what my kids are going to look like in about 10 years.

Tamales and Limoncello

2nd Annual Christmas Dinner with the crew! Our numbers have expanded with the addition of Tay this year. Also, this was Keller's first year attending, last year we put him to bed before the festivities started. The tamales were delicious (thank you Costco!), J's mole sauce added extra flavor, yummy appetizers, a cornbread salad that was to die for, and fondue for dessert. So good!

Princess Party

Little K turned 4 during a Princess Party fit for a queen. Mommies were asked to dress-up as well. Me, in my bridesmaid dress, thought I would be quite fancy. But, a few of the other ladies really did it right.

Dolly Parton wig + flowy purple dress = AWESOME princess fairy!

All the little princesses:

And, all the big princesses:

Santa Claus Part II

Last weekend we visited Santa for another round of the best game in the entire world...trying to get a picture of the four of us where everyone is smiling and looking at the camera. As you can see the adults were game, but the kiddos were vetoing the whole idea.

Santa gave us a little laugh in the beginning. "Do you have a cell phone with you?" Uhmmm...yes, but why does the Jolly Old Elf want my cell phone? Is there an emergency at the work shop? Was he late in getting home to Mrs. Claus? Oh, is that how most people have been taking their photo. Well, do you see the enormous camera strapped to my back. Mazzettas come prepared with a goal in mind!

My quest for the mythical family photo continues...

Birthday Season!

Birthday season is here! Bring on the cupcakes and fun, because everyone is turning 4 these days. We started it off right helping Rae celebrate at Chase Palm with ice cream cupcakes and carousal rides for everyone.

In fact, it was Keller's first carousal ride!
