Dem My Toes

Pearly is hitting all of her milestones! Hello feet, nice to eat you!!

And, this picture made my day!

Proud Moment

Seriously, do I even have to state how proud this picture makes me????? Vera has read 6 of the 7 Harry Potter Books and LOVES them. It is like I have accomplished all of my goals as a parent. ;) On Sunday, she and I sat down to watch the first movie. Yes, we geeked it up Pottermania style (scarves, wands, and Bertie Botts...aka jelly beans). Since then, she has been riding a broom stick, casting spells, and wearing the Gryffindor Scarf. So happy!

Kidspace Children's Museum = AWESOME!

Wiggly Worm

She was on the ground, turned my back for a minute, and the little worm had wiggled her way under the chair. She is on the move, at least in a wiggly way.

Valentine's Day Party

With 4 kids, I am really struggling with how to give each child the time and emotional support that they need. I feel torn when two of them clamor for my attention at the same time...or three...or all of them. At times, it feels like I have to choose one over the other. I know that Vera at the start of the year was hurt that I am volunteering in Keller's class, but don't volunteer during the day in her classroom. Of course there are reasons for the way it is, but still, doesn't make me feel less guilty.

What I do get to be in her classroom is a Co-Room Mom! It is a fairly easy assignment, plan the Halloween and Valentine's Day Party + make sure teacher is showered with love during Teacher Appreciation Week. So far, so fun.

Kindergarten Friendship Parade

Each kiddo in K's class was responsible for creating a float for the Kindergarten Friendship Parade. The float was not allowed to have wheels, but was supposed to have a friend or two along for the ride. Keller chose his crocodile and dog. He also thought up the awesome idea of a pirate ship. Keller did all of the painting and cutting and then I helped with the structure of the ship. Yes, I like these projects as much as the kids.

Sweet smile!

Life's Treasures

We got a great email from Vera's teacher:

Love this poem by Vera. She has a beautiful way with words.

Life’s Treasures
The soft purring of my cat late at night,
Seasoned juicy cauliflower flowing down my throat,
Stiff, clean hair on a horse’s mane,
Sweet strawberry lemonade,
The smell of fresh chocolate brownies baking in the oven,
The great eagle soaring over the shining hills,
Seeing my brothers and sister when they are first born,
My baby sister smiling at me in the morning,
My beautiful books staring at me from their shelves,
Cool breezes in the late afternoon,
Playing soccer in the crispy wind,
Winking into bed after a long and busy day.

Goleta Train Station Birthday

Train rides, cute hats, a handcar, and birthday cake all equaled a great time celebrating one of Keller's friend's 6th birthday. Have I mentioned lately that Keller is getting tall!

The train hats were adorable on all of the kiddos.

Am-Burger Visit

With J away on a business trip for a week, I begged my best friend from high school to make the long drive from Arizona to spend some time with us. She said yes and the Mazzetta Kiddos were lucky to spend time with Am and her adorable son, The Muffin Man. That is his official nickname. As you can imagine, we have been singing his song the entire week, "Do You Know the Muffin Man?"

Cutie!

A zoo trip was in order, MM was in awe of the flamingos.

Gus did pretty well sharing with MM, about all you can except from my 2.5-year-old son.

Am brought a fun photo prop with her...I got everybody but Pearly-Whirly.

She was not thrilled with the sun at the beach.

MM LOVED the ocean!! In fact, we couldn't keep him out of it.
