Family Reading Time

Once a month, families are invited into Gus' classroom to read with their student. Pearl and I got to hear both Gus and one of his classmates read.

Sunday Funday in September

My kids might not totally agree with Sunday Funday...J and I encouraged the kids to put on their walking shoes and make the 6-mile round trip to Powell's Bookstore.

Lots and lots of gorgeous leaves were passed.

Admired the murals even the boys were digging the fans that x-rayed.

First stop was at Voodoo Doughnuts where we timed to perfectly to sit out a small rainstorm.

It is a mural building!!! Painted by James Jean...pretty darn incredible.

Tilt for lunch, hamburgers, and cheddar cheese tots. I may have gotten too excited with the sauces.

A grumpy moment at the end, but all in all there were only a few complaints. We do have to get Ms. P walking a bit more.

Art From the Heart

I am digging the amount of art that Gus' class is doing.

Pearl and I are exploring all the nooks and crannies of Portland.

Fall is Here

I am obsessed with the leaves changing color.

Hiking in Tryon Creek State Natural Area

Saturday Street Fair and Friends From SB

Elephant Ears for the win!

You can play in most of the fountains. Kids in full on clothes, 3.5 seconds for everyone to be soaked.

Come on, it is pretty funny.

Will definitely hit up the market again.

Swift Watch 2018

Get to Portland, hear about thousands (13,000 to be exact) of swifts that migrate through the Portland area and use a school's defunct chimney as a roosting spot. Kind of a crazy phenomenon...Swift Watch 2018.
