Butterfly Walk

On the 26th we headed to see the Monarch Butterflies in their natural habitat. Turns out a rocking log was all the excitement we needed.

My kids + husband are hams.

Christmas Morning

Go big or go home! Two trees is the new norm at our house.

Very much our train and building kid.

Opa, the brain flakes have been a hit. ALL of my kids like them. So much so, that J is talking about ordering more so that we can all build together.

Tents from Santa!

Everyone likes my Christmas pjs.

Matchy-Matchy

I think these are my favorite Christmas pjs yet!

Hair

Vera is getting very, very good at braids.

More Friends

Our friends came to visit from Chicago...so nice to catch up!

SpaceX Launch

Super crazy to walk outside and see the launch.

Neighbor Friend

A break from school has meant that we get to see our neighbor friend a lot more...my boys are thrilled.

Random Story...

My friend's family adds a charm to their Christmas stockings each year that represent their year. This friend had ear surgery...probably the strangest thing we have printed on our 3D printer to date. Ha! J even added a ring to the back so that it could be hung on her stocking.

Evacuation Party 2017

My kiddos were thrilled to have cousins have a sleepover. 10 people, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 2 snakes in our house, it was brimming with Christmas spirit and fire stress.

Vera's Next Adventure

Holiday Work Par-Tay

Lots and lots of food, sweets, and a magic show!

I did Vera's hair. This is big for me, because she loves to show me these super complicated styles on the internet and have me recreate them. So hard.

The Smell

In an attempt to keep the house smelling nice instead of like an ashtray, I boiled a combination of this constantly.

Not a good idea...

It turns out that dropping boiling water on your foot is never a good idea, especially if you are wearing cotton socks that keep that water nice and close to your skin until you realize you need to rip it off! That blister only lasted a day before an attempt to wear shoes happened and the darn thing popped.

2nd Trip to Escape the Smoke + Santa #2

Cal Poly! Always fun to go back to our alma mater and give the kids a tour.

We may have stumbled across the graduation reception...open to all on campus. Hmmm...free snacks and coffee, right up our alley.

Walking through the buildings we found an open classroom. J and I were impressed at how far seating has come.

On the way home we stopped at Availa Barns for a quick Santa picture and tour of their animals.

She loves having her photo taken!
