2, 2, 2!

I can kind of see it, the family resemblance. They look more alike in these photos than they do in real life. Of course, these are when they were both 2. Hmmm...

Side note: Is that really Vera? My baby is so grown-up now!

Summer Camp

Vera's first day at summer camp at the Natural History Museum is complete...and she LOVED it, of course. She loved buying a new lunchbox for this week, picking out her outfit to wear (which promptly got changed when we got there for a camp shirt), and the day spent at the museum itself. Oddly enough, when asked what her favorite part of the day was, she replied, "When we got to take a nap." Huh. I guess they had quiet time on towels while one of the teachers read a story. Cool, as long as you had fun.

I did sniffle just a bit when dropping her off. This was her first day of "school" away from me and it made me a little sad to realize how close she is to entering real school...kindergarten. I still have a year left to have her at home and now know that I need to appreciate it, because I am going to miss having her around.

You know who didn't love it, the Keller Dude. He kept repeating, "No go home. Vera camp." I think that means that he wanted to pick Vera up from camp or join Vera at camp. With the Dude you can never be 100% sure.

We were very, very lucky that Miss S decided to go to camp with Vera. Having a friend with her made it so much easier to say good-bye.

Best Piece of Clothing Ever

Let's be honest, kids clothing does not make it long in my house. Stains, rips, and good old fashioned wear and tear take their toll. Don't even get me started on avocados and bananas! If anyone has every gotten either of those foods out of clothes, please leave a comment and tell me how. SO, when you come across the gold standard in kid's clothing, it is AMAZING!!

Which brings me to this awesome shirt from Hanna Anderson. It started out as a dress when Vera was 2 and a half, now that she is 4 and a half it is a shirt. Yep, she has been wearing it for over two years. Plus, the pattern hides any stains.

Taffy's at the Rose Garden

Such a simple idea, so much fun! CC and I rallied our different moms' groups to grab Taffy's pizza (PEP was doing a fundraiser there) and met for dinner at the Rose Garden to hang, eat, and play.

Hmmm...pizza!

Pretty, Pretty Princesses

I swear, he came down the stairs like this. He then spent the next five minutes copying all of Vera's princess moves.

On a side note, I thought that the whole princess obsession was going to pass us by. Vera has always had more interest in dogs than in princesses. However, today she came down the stairs talking about having a princess party and wanting to be a princess for Halloween. I still have high hopes that today was just a fluke and princess fever will not grab ahold of this family. Keller is trying to prove me wrong!

Tay-Tay's 1st Birthday!!

Tay-Tay's first birthday was spent hanging with friends at Goleta Beach Park. The weather was perfect and the seagulls only semi-annoying...can't ask for more than that.

Proud Mama CC! I think she is still in disbelief that her little girl is 1!

Hmmm...doesn't that just look yummy.

What Keller spent a good half-hour doing:

What Vera spent a good half-hour doing. Taylor ate at least a pound of goldfish all force fed by my children.

Right after I had to steal the hoe back from some little kids. Mean, mean Mama!

B Carol teaching the Dude how to spit ice from his mouth. Thanks B Carol!!! :)

Two Big Changes

The biggest news...Keller transitioned to his fire engine bed (thank you craigslist) awesomely. No more crib for our little dude, of course he had been and out of his crib for a couple of months now...so, really no difference with him getting up and down out of a "big boy bed." He LOVES it!

The cutest thing, so cute it will make you a little sick, he found a hot wheel fire engine and now sleeps with it in his fire engine bed.

In addition to the new bed, I switched up the wall design behind Keller's bed. Yea, should have taken a before and after photo. But, I always think of that step after the AFTER is completed. Whoops! I am all about chaos, color, and collage.

More Clauson Wedding Photos!

The official wedding photos won't be ready for a couple of months, but the fabulous photographers (Studio Castillero) gave Jules what they call the day of edited ones. I think I am phrasing that correctly. They are amazing and I can't wait to see all of the photos that they took. So impressed.

My ultimate favorite photo!

I want to be able to take a photo like this:

And this:

Another Random Collection

Mrs. B sent me these two pictures of Keller. Wow, he is starting to look all grown-up to me. I was thinking about it this morning, the fact that he is going to be two in less than a month, and yet I can still crook him into my arm and onto my hip. He is all boy and ready for action.

Vera is obsessed with taking pictures with the little camera (our point and shoot) and then previewing them on the the tv. She also wants a captive audience to listen as she details each shot.

I had to post this picture. CC, only you would be able to find denim diapers...AWESOME!

One of the many, many reasons why I think J is a great dad. He spent 30 minutes playing the smash game with the kids.

Vera's new skill! She bought the jump rope with her allowance money. Her first big purchase. :)

Keller's innovative way to eat cake. I tried for an instant to tell him to use a fork and then just figured why not? He doesn't eat all food like this and hopefully he won't be 20 and eating his cake with no hands, but for now I am okay with it.

Tay and her first birthday cake!!

Oh, and here is Keller trying to steal Tay's first birthday gift from the house. Wasn't quite as effective as he might have thought considering it is a rocker.
