Bob
A trip to the salon on Thursday ended up being a major hair cut for Vera. I went in with the idea that she was getting a trim and in the car on the way there she stated that she wanted it bob'd. Have to say, I was a little bit nervous. She has been growing her hair for months and it was halfway down her back. In the end, it worked out perfectly.
She loves her new style! I think it is pretty darn cute too!!

Keeping Me From My Job
Penny has adapted quite well to our house and loves to lounge on my bed. I try to make it before she makes herself comfortable, but lose that race most days.

Sympathy
I wasn't giving Gus enough sympathy for his stubbed toe and so he decided to take matters into his own hands. At one point, there were three ice packs on that itty-bitty toe.

Auntie Lolo and Cousin Kevin
I have been a bit belated with my posts. J's aunt and cousin came for a weekend visit right before school started and I am just now checking out the photos. It is a bit crazy how behind I am on things these days. So nice to have family in town and get to show them around. One of our missions, to take the free shopping trolley around SB for fun. Check!
The trolley starts at our only mall in town, to downtown, past a bunch of hotels, back to downtown and then ends again at the mall. The kids enjoyed the no seat belt aspect of the whole experience.

Goofball
Really, the only thing to do with Trader Joe's stickers.
I kid you not, he was talking in the Darth Vader voice. It was awesome.
My Gym
Sis was gifted 4 weeks free at My Gym and instead of using all of them, she passed two to us so that the cousins could play together. Excuse the grainy photos, but Gus had ups and downs with his My Gym experience. The first week I could barely get him to sit in circle time. The second time he sat and participated...well, for the most part. ;) I think the free time was still his favorite time. Oh, and the big event of the day, during this trip it was a ride on the choo-choo train.
The funniest part, if one cousin revolted from an activity or event, the other tried to immediately follow. For instance, Cousin S would leave circle time, Gus would shortly copy what she did. We gave our instructor a run for his money. He earned his paycheck the day that our kiddos visited.

Picture Day at School
J and I have pretty much boycotted school pictures. They never seem to capture our kids true spirits and cost a fortune. That said, still showing you what I sent them to school wearing. Vera isn't bothered by her lack of school pictures and stated, "I get to see the picture in the yearbook and it also includes my class picture." Well said, daughter, well said.
Moorpark Animal Training College
Vera with a 90-year-old turtle.
I am blaming this hat on our friends who brought it back from Hawaii. J loves it!
Keller participating in a "Guess the Animal Show."
Lucky boy, he got to hold a cockroach.
Penny's namesake, the ocelot cat.
The Moorpark Animal Training College has been on my "To Do List" for a bit now. Vera enjoyed seeing the trainers work with the animals, she would like to one day attend. I was a little surprised at how small the zoo was, considering that it houses several large cats and quite a few animals. Would I go back, probably not. Many of the exhibits were cages, not animal enclosures.
Keller's First Soccer Game!
The second banner made by this mama.
A little practice before the game.
So, so fun to watch the Little Dude play.
One of the best parts of the game, the tunnel to say good job!!
Vera's First Soccer Game!
The team banner made by her mama with blood, sweat, and tears.
We do need to teach our little girl to focus without sticking out her tongue, it makes me nervous that she is going to bite it off.
Half-time break!
Playing goalie for the 1st time! Vera might have found her team sport. She loved it! Throughout the rest of the day she kept repeating, "It was so much fun! Best day ever!!" Needless to say, I might become a soccer mom...I can't believe I just typed those words. I will have to hold out for one of my other kiddos to play basketball. ;)
