8 Going on 13

Something about the hat made Keller look like he was entering tween land instead of 8.  He also scarfed down a Costco hot dog like a grown man and then was still hungry.

Not Quite the Day I was Expecting

I truly believed we would have our first woman president. I worry now.

This mama is ready to trade in soccer fields for the basketball court. Keller measured 4 ft 11 in and Vera 5 ft 3 in. Typically little brother, he just wants to catch up to his big sister.

All Dressed Up and Ready to Party

Anna ready for the princess extravaganza...otherwise known as a friends 3rd birthday.

First order of business was making a colorful tiara.

Each area of the party was decorated in a specific princess' theme. I so wish I had taken a picture of each favorite was Belle's Buffet.

Rapunzel's art studio that included the most adorable aprons.

Hard to read, but this was Prince Phillips' Dragon Slaying.

The trampoline was Cinderella's Balls...aka, tons of balls to bounce with while in the trampoline.

Every princess needs a carriage to take her home.

Pumpkin Masters

I'm going to be honest...pumpkin carving almost didn't happen this year. Yep, my kids carved their pumpkins on the afternoon of the 31st.

Student Council Rocks!

Dang, she not only got to announce the winners, she got an award for being trustwor!

Fall Carnival

At the start of the year our school decided to switch from a spring carnival to one in the fall. What they needed was a group of parents who were willing to plan the whole ding-dang thing. My friend stepped up and I followed suite as her helper...and that started 6 weeks of grueling work. Thankfully, Rain worked as an event planner in "real life."

It turns out that planning a carnival, especially one at night and with a haunted house, is a lot of work with many, many minute details. In the end, people loved it and it raised over $4000...everyone wins.

Our new favorite fall edition was a fortune teller!

The 6th grade families get HUGE props for coming in costumes to run the jail.

My only other complaint is that planning and running the carnival ran me ragged. It is a week after the event and I am still fighting a cold that started the night before the carnival. Yikes!
