Awwww!

I downloaded the little camera and found this keeper. We are all going to be family in just over a month! Whoo-hoo for the wedding of the year.

Zia's Bridal Shower

Sunday was the first of Zia's wedding activities, her bridal shower. The weather was perfect, food delicious, and company hilarious. Oh, and there were M&Ms with Zia and D-Man's faces on them. AWESOME!!

Picnic and Park

Geoff or Geoffers as he will now be known, was in town on a business trip, a beach picnic was in order.

I love this pic, except for the random kid in the background. Note to self...must get better at Photoshop!

G-Man got a full taste of what living with these kiddos is like. Keller broke down while shopping for dinner in TJ's, Vera bopped him in the head several times when he tried to pick her up, and both kids discovered how much fun it is to hang off of him...at the same time. Good times!

Grandpa Richard!!!

Grandpa Richard came to visit for the day and so we took him to our favorite place in Santa Barbara! If you haven't been lately, there are new otters, Bill and Jillian and I heard through the grapevine that two new giraffes arrived today. We love new animals!

We had fun walking around with Grandpa...

Okay, normally I am not an animal photographer, but sometimes you just have to take the opportunity.

The four of us walked around, but Ta-Ta, Uncle Dan, and J met us for lunch. I looked through all of the eating photos where at least one person looked bad in all of them. So, just decided to go with a picture where we all look ridiculous. Good times!

Horses

I haven't quite decided yet if our encouragement of Vera's love for horses is a good thing. Last weekend we watched horse jumping and whoo-eee, that looks like an expensive hobby.

Who needs toys when you can play with horse poop?

Funny Pic of the Day

What Daddy J dreams up:

Princess Party #105

The overwhelming theme for 4-year-old girls' parties is princess! Hmmm...I know that is not entirely surprising to anyone who either is or has had a daughter. Girls for the most part like all things that sparkle and opportunities to look pretty.

I just like this shot of Vera.

Such a great idea for a party...the girls had o much fun decorating the castle!

Boom-De-Yadda

Me (in my best singing voice): Boom-de-yadda, boom-de-yadda

Vera: I like it better when someone else sings it.

Me: non-committal shrug

Vera (trying to be nice): Your voice is not really like the voice on the song. Do you realize that?

Hmmm...no more singing for me. This could also be why my child hates musicals.

Best Friends

How cute that the two girls both show up wearing sequin shirts. But what really strikes me about these photos, is that Vera looks like I did in every picture of me as a child. Tall, tall, tall and towering over a friend. I wonder how my parents dealt with it. For a tall woman, I think I have confidence in my height and want Vera to have the same...at a much younger age.

The other side effect of her height...she is not six!!! I fully admit getting a bit defensive when people think she is years older than the other kids at the park simply because of her size.

Last of the Easter

The kids get it this year! Each was left a card on the table with a riddle that would lead them to their Easter basket. Keller's was obviously pretty darn simple, but as soon as I read "Where are the pretzels?" he ran right for the kitchen pantry and found his Easter basket. And oh, the smile on that little munchkin's face. So cute!

Vera was excited for basket...til she realized that it wasn't brimming to the top with candy. I think she was expecting a little bit more chocolate...mean, mean Easter Bunny.

Brunch for 10 and a half. Tay will be eating with us next year!

How cute is our little ginger friend?

Loving Vera!

Probably the largest tricycles I have ever seen!

Another Day...

...another egg hunt. This time, the kids set off in a mad dash to scoop up eggs by the hundreds. Okay, not that many, but darn there were a lot of plastic eggs for the kidlets. This picture does not do it justice, but at least you can see the sprinkles of color across the lawn.

Keller was picky about what color egg he picked up. After grabbing an egg, he would hold it to his ear and give it a good shake. Yep, he learned very quickly that candy inside an egg makes a very particular sound.

Vera, not so picky.

The hunt also gave us the perfect opportunity for a family photo!

Family photo that includes Nonni and Nonno = AWESOME!
