Best Contest Ever!!

A month-ish ago I entered a contest on Instagram for these amazing Harry Potter Book Covers and pins. I still can't believe that I won. Do I cover books? Do I frame them? Do I frame them with the color blocked areas on the side. Am I a nerd? I think we know the answer to the last question.

Pretty sure this is my favorite! I feel much more Luna than Harry, Ron, or Hermione these days.

Love!

Not done by us, but created by one of Pearl's sweet teachers. I think it is amazing.

Butterbeer

Gus got a bee up his bonnet to make Harry Potter's Butterbeer. Ice cream, cream soda, butterscotch syrup, and whipped cream combine to make a super yummy treat...just like at WB Harry Potter Studio Tour we took this summer.

I'm just glad that we keep using our souvenir cups. Totally worth the purchase price.

Please don't make me regret this purchase...

Scrabble

You can just imagine that this game went as well as you think with a 6-year-old and a 14-year-old. Sheesh.

Whipped Coffee

Vera has become obsessed with whipped coffee and making it exactly how she wants it.

Holy Poop!

I may have got us in over our heads. We have sooo much time on our hands on the weekend with no sports. It has been time for a basement redo for almost 2 years now. The primer is done and all I need now is to pick what shade of white paint I want down there. Oh, and I need new carpet. That should be easy, right?!?

Blooming!

I have become the biggest flower geek from walking around our neighborhood so much.

Crafting and More

Quarantine...here is the thing, my three older kids complete their work from school, love to read, and will do other things when asked. The littlest, well, her work takes just an hour-ish in the morning and then she really does just want to craft and be entertained. It is awesome and exhausting all at the same time.

One project, a yarn-bombed bucket to use at the crafting table in her room.

The window painting turned out to be an activity that everyone enjoyed.

Meditation jar prompted by the school counselor, both Gus and Pearl made one...only one would pose for a picture.

Waaaay back when I was pregnant, a good friend's mom gave me this hot plate warmer. It is only used for this purpose which is why she gave it to me. I guess in the 70s they made them so that they didn't have automatic shut offs when they got to hot. It is perfect for melted crayon art projects.

Keller got into the fun using eyeshadow to make a butterfly on Pearl's face.

AND, last but not least, we made a light blue snake cake. Because, why not?

The Oldest Child

The oldest child has been spending her time doing school stuff in her room, talking/Zooming with friends, and working out on her new rowing machine. In the beginning she didn't mind being off school, but now is realizing that she would give anything to have her school and activities back again.

Pearl would like to be an origami master.

The boys are both working their way through the Keeper of the Lost Cities Series.

Planning new dinners is my job. Ha, those are canned mushrooms, which are kind of disgusting and delicious at the same time.

Pearl and I spent several afternoons working on a Santa Barbara puzzle.

...and a unicorn mosaic project.

Four player chess has destroyed any feelings of self worth that I had. It turns out that I suck at chess and really, really stink at 4-person chess.

Too high for my comfort levels!

We've taken to admiring flowers and squirrels. What a crazy time we live in. I want that purple plant in my yard right away.

Up next...a Vera update!

Pink Snow!

I think it might be me cleaning our beautiful cherry blossoms up.

J's Cell Phone Pictures From England - Seriously Almost Done

I almost forgot about this picture as we waited at the bus stop to start our trip.

Buckingham Palace:

J's selfie game is pretty much always on point.

We did stand in this line to see the Crown Jewels!

To say the car was cramped would be an understatement. Also, it got even fuller as I shopped. Whoops.

That is our car...for all 6 of us plus gear!!!!
