It started on Monday with, "I'd really like to ride the bus to school." A quick check with the office and her teacher on Tuesday to realize that there was literally nothing we had to do. I thought I would at least have to sign a form or initial a document. Nope, nothing. Vera rode the bus for the first time last week on Wednesday! She loves it. After the first day she describes it as relaxing and kept repeating over and over that riding the bus was the best part of her day.
If I had realized how easy it is to schlep her to the bus stop instead of three kiddos to school in the minivan, this day would have come a whole heck of a lot sooner. Three days riding the bus and she is already having long debates over who to sit with and whether or not the person she doesn't choose will get their feelings hurt.
