Road Trip 2009 Pics

Photo worthy moments from our trip are here. You know what would have made the shot below a whole heck of a lot cooler...if I had also taken a picture at the end of the trip. Nope, just the beginning miles.

Seriously, riding your horses over the overpass, midwest randomness at its finest. Also, the "JESUS!" signs posted on the highway rank right up there as well.

Our big moment of the 1st day was finding the World's Largest Rocking Chair. Only one word to describe it, AWESOME! Here is where we also realized that we would be following Route 66 from Illinois to California and all the landmarks that it holds.

On the 2nd day, I made Pops explore the backwoods of Missouri in search of the Precious Moments Chapel that had been advertised on the highway. He was a very accommodating travel partner. My goal was to visit at least one oddity a day during this trip. Oddity being the term I am using to describe an awesome, photograph worthy moment.

Why was there a penguin outside of the Oklahoma Tourist Information Center? No reason given, but pops is into them...so it was cool. The OTIC is notable, because it is where we were told to head to the Rock Cafe on Route 66 for lunch and what would turn out to be the only wrong turn that we made during our entire journey.

The one wrong turn of the day had us driving for 30 minutes trying to find the Rock Cafe. Hmmm...was it worth having the best pulled pork sandwich of my life? The debate is still out as Dad's hamburger wasn't exceptional.

Do you think I am finished? No way! Cadillac Ranch, Texas is worth an entire blog all on its own.

Okay, what possible use is a giant rocking chair if you can't sit in it to take photos????

Love the sea horse and your photo in the car--esp since your hair seems little windswept so it looks like the car is moving
