Summer Camp

Vera's first day at summer camp at the Natural History Museum is complete...and she LOVED it, of course. She loved buying a new lunchbox for this week, picking out her outfit to wear (which promptly got changed when we got there for a camp shirt), and the day spent at the museum itself. Oddly enough, when asked what her favorite part of the day was, she replied, "When we got to take a nap." Huh. I guess they had quiet time on towels while one of the teachers read a story. Cool, as long as you had fun.

I did sniffle just a bit when dropping her off. This was her first day of "school" away from me and it made me a little sad to realize how close she is to entering real school...kindergarten. I still have a year left to have her at home and now know that I need to appreciate it, because I am going to miss having her around.

You know who didn't love it, the Keller Dude. He kept repeating, "No go home. Vera camp." I think that means that he wanted to pick Vera up from camp or join Vera at camp. With the Dude you can never be 100% sure.

We were very, very lucky that Miss S decided to go to camp with Vera. Having a friend with her made it so much easier to say good-bye.
