Hope Old School Days

Hope Old School Days is a one of my favorite parts of the 2nd grade curriculum at Hope Elementary. The kids wear costumes and follow curriculum that mimics the 1890's. Keller was given the part of Eduardo, a 16-year-old-boy with seven brothers and sisters. In his words "I live on a large ranch, five miles from town. We washed clothes using a bumpy board in a bucket and made orange smell things." They also made bean bears, corn husk dolls, embroidered letters, and participated in a spelling bee.
