Independence

We've been experimenting with Vera picking out her own clothes. Sometimes I first ask whether she wants to choose or have Mommy do it. If she is going to pick what she wears I try to remember to give her guidelines...like long pants and long sleeved shirt. Then, the trick is to be okay with what she chooses, whether it matches or not. Stripes can be worn with flowers, polka-dots, or more stripes. Vera, if given the choice, will always reach for a tank-top. Of course, in winter...even a Santa Barbara winter...not always the best decision. So, she found a solution.
